Actually, fibreglass would be a very viable option if someone really wanted to go ahead and do it. Not only is it fairly light and cheap, it's corrosion proof too. Fiberglass 4x4 fenders and hoods would be great.
As for the beds,if someone made molds of the flared bedsides and sold just the bedsides to attach to an existing 2wd bed, that sould significantly save cost to buy the parts, but it would be more labour on the buyer's end having to cut off the 2wd sides and install the new 4x4 bedsides. But really, there's guys that want 4x4 beds that bad that I'm sure some of us,myself included, would do something like that.
Kermit had a very clean bed, where I definetly would have cut off the sides to mount fibreglass bedsides.
The only downside to glass is for the guys who want to drag. It's definetly not going to stand up to that like sheetmetal would....but then how many glass rollpans are out there? Tons.

Everyone know that Jonny's cooking Johnson Brats. All you have to do is yell it at the end of a dock so meat products is really not what I'm looking for.
The grills are a good option though.

what about if we get a free pack of brats with every purchase of mazda parts? Now that's a deal.

you're only saying that cuz you already have the real metal stuff. haha.
Whaddya think...if someone could make bedsides for like $200/pair or fenders for like $50...would it be worth it?

Man arent we about the most pointless group of ppl ever... talking about parts for a dawg and end up talking about brats. Anyways....
I say what about more conventional items... Plug and play wiring harness to relocate under the hood items, vacume line eliminator kits (could come with pre cut tubing for the lines you need to keep and a diagram of what to remove with explanations on how to tune afterwards), stud protectors for those of us that choose to grind off the tabs instead of bore the wholes, or even a cheap steel jig that can be sold to set into the bolt wholes on tahoe/eskies so that we can use a standard router and get machine precision when boring, Grills yes those are good too.
Well that is my list for now.

I like the plug and play harness idea, stud protectors and eliminator kits. What items do you want to eliminate from under the hood?
I'm already working on the grills and hopefully in a week I will have a lot of old stock grills for you guys.

I agree about the glass panels, they definetly aren't feasible. I don't think anyone would spend over $500 for glass panels when they can pick up a metal bed for $100-800 depending where they get it. However...if there becomes demand, prices will eventually drop. But it's not like you're going to be popping out Honda Type R emblems and selling them for 99 cents.
JMZ's ideas are great with the relocator kits and stuff.
Ian,I have a stock grille and a 4x4 grille if you need/want them for anything.
