I just had the center chunk replaced in my Howler. I had a donor rear from my other truck so we used the axels from one rear and the housing and diff from another. It works fine now. I would deff. check that the housing is not bent. That will cause problems in parts wearing out prematurely and wierd tire wear.

Yea, I wanna see pics of it, if it is bad! I've never really got a chance to see chewed gears, lol.
Just remember, the rear end housing does flex some while driving. But if it is just an ungodly amount of warpage you will see it at the ears where the axles bolt onto.
