i know a guy who'se about to get his license back after like 7 years of not having it cuz of a couple DUI's or DWI or whatever the term is. he's pretty stoked to get it back, but i'm not sure he learned his lesson. still an alcoholic, and still will prolly drink and drive. its sad, really. some people just don't understand i guess...

I lost a very good friend it will be 2 years ago in July to an idiot who was drinking and driving.

The man was driving on the wrong side of the road with his lights off and they met head on. He was a expecting father, husband but mostly a true friend.

He will always be remember'd for the infamous 3 wheel.

^^^ I remember reading that story, very sad! Long story short, my father would ride home with a friend at work every night, well one night his friend wanted to stop at the bar for a bit, well he seen another friend and hitched a ride home. His friend was hammered, about 30 minutes later my father was killed by his friends mistake and his own choice to ride with him. The driver lived, was never charged with anything. approx 7-8 yrs later the drive had a drug problem and owed some pretty serious money around town. Karma caught up with him and he sat in his chair dead by some other deadbeat he owed money to.

Problem with most driving while impaired statutes is that they dont mean a damn thing to the impaired drivers. There have been cases here locally where a drunk driver has had 30 plus arrests, done jsil time, done rehab, had licenses pulled and cars impounded and yet still somehow get a car and drive drunk again.I hate for the government to get in my sh-- more than they are in it,but seems to me the next thing beyond air bags and belts is an electronic monitor on ALL cars that would test for alcohol, other substances and reaction times BEFORE the car would start.I know what the civil liberties people would say,but they havent had a friend or relative killed by a drunk driver either.Big problem and it is going to get worse as the population ages and the roads get more crowded.Oh and since I am an old cooter I can say u r 70 and over,u should be required to pass a physical including a simple reaction time and vision test to renew ur license to drive.u cant get a CDL with certain medical problems so why should u be able to drive a 2 ton car with the same problems?BJ

I think there should be an open hunting season on drunk drivers. Don't fucking care who they are. They should be subjected to a firing squad.
