whats the offset for a 17" or 18" that will be able to tuck ???what are the options
Depends on the width. If you want to be dead drop sure it will tuck follow these rules...
Here is a quote from Russ-D I found over on street source. If anybody would know he would.
"On a body dropped mazda a 7 inch wide needs about +32, 7.5 about +39, 8 about +46 and 8.5 would need as I said, +54. Which you cant get in 6 lug without buying a 3000 dollar set of billets. Redrill to 5 lug, lots of high offset 20's on 5 lug."
they dont even make the centreline smoothies in 6x5.5 do they?
what about these ??
Wheel Size: 18 x 8"
Bolt Pattern: 6 x 5.5" (6 x 139.7mm)
Hub Diameter: 77.8mm
Offset: 25
need more offset. those will stick out a little and rub.
even with 4x4 sheetmetal?
They WILL tuck but it takes a bit of work like flaring your bedsides and front fenders. Those are the same specs as my QX56 wheels and DevB22 was able to tuck them with some re-working of the 4wd fenders and bed.Or better yet you can put a pre 86 rear end in which is narrower than the stocker for better clearance in the rear.
found some brand spankin new 18 q56 rims for 300 dollars just need to know how much more work would it be to fit these on im stock as of now. would i just have to bore them out or is there more to it?
Bore the hub centers to 4" and you should be alright. Are you planning to tuck these wheels? You'll need 4x4 metal then flare the bedsides and front fenders.Or get a pre 85 mazda rear end which is about 2" narrower than stock.
Also PM DevB22 or do a search on this site.I have seen a few of his thread with links to flaring the bedside to make clearance for those wheels to clear with 225/35/R18's on those wheels.
