After the catastrophic death (lost all its oil and the engine seized) of my truck last Autumn, I parked it in back of my place and forgot about it.
However, I recently came accross the ad below in the local buy and sell.
The guy is going through a divorce and needs cash to pay his lawyer. I went through the exact same thing 10 years ago so I can empathize and feel I'm in a position to help the guy out.
Anyhow, here's the ad:
1986 MAZDA B2000
1986 MAZDA B2000 266109KM, MECHANICS dream, 2.0L engine, m/t (clutch and flywheel replaced 1.5 years ago), new frt brake pads, rotors and calipers 2 years ago, new shoes and machined drums 2 years ago, new starter 3 months ago, new blower motor and resistor 2 years ago, new muffler and tailpipe at Christmas. Has no brakes now but the driver's rear brake line is split open causing no brakes, the windsheild is cracked. floor pan by driver's seat rotten thru but repairable. Truck has been sitting in a garage for the last two years until 4 months ago. Body is in good condition for the year. The clutch and flywheel may have a 1000 kms on them while the brakes have maybe a year's worth of highway miles on them. Hate to get rid of the truck but bought a newer extended cab truck to haul the kids in. Any offer considered within reason. Phone Mike $700.00. obo.
BTW, he's the third owner of the truck and all owners so far have been mechanics.
I'm going with my son tonite and I'll take some pics for your enjoyment. I'll post them later, as well as let you know what happened!
Cheers !!

I sure will.
If this thing pans out the truck will be staying mostly stock as it will be replacing a work/daily driver truck, so no droppin' or baggin'.
I will post pics as soon as we get back from see'in the truck.
Cheers!!

Went and saw the truck tonite...
The good:
Old skool chrome rally wheels & caps, runs well, idles well, does not burn antifreeze, blows hot air, has a tach, dash and vents intact, tailgate intact, rear chrome bumper intact.
The bad:
Ugly brown interior (which I can Krylon right?), right rear brake line leaking, seats are shot (I have spares), rusty rockers (see pics), rusty doors (see pics & I have spares), rusty fenders (see pics & I have spares), cracked windshield, hole in the floor under right rear driver's seat, some holes in the bed.
The pics:
I'm checking into the price of a new windshield and, based on this, I'm thinking of offering the guy $500 as is.

looks pretty rough bro, but definatly has potential, he would be stupid not to take the 500, sounds like you got lots of plans for it bro, make it happen!!!

Holy rust batman! Only thing that would concern me is the rockers but they wouldnt be to hard to fix. Seems like a pretty good deal if you have most of the parts to replace everything. On the interior you can use the duplicolor vinyl interior paint. It works awesome.

Thx for the tip. If I do proceed with the purchase I will definitely be painting the dash to hide that fugly brown color.
Cheers !!

LOL, my interior is that color, anyways, if you have another complete truck, why don't you just drop the engine from the one you might buy in it? Then maybe swap some of the other things like the tach and what not, then take whatever other good parts the truck has on it and junk it. That is the way I would go but that is me not you.

The body on the truck I'm looking at is in better condition than the parts truck I currently have.
My thinking is to take from the parts truck everything I need to spruce up this new one. That means doors, door panels, seats, fenders, etc.
