Ok, so...Im at a crossroads with my truck. Tell you the truth i've kind of lost a bit of interest, but I guess that has to do with not being able to work on it everyday n such with me being 1000km away.
I've kind of been doing a bit of thinking.
My truck is an 86 EXT cab 2wd, has 33x12.5x15s n 33x14.5s on it and no lift. Theyre ok tires, but I could have better. The ideal would be to replace them all with 33x12.5 Wrangler MT/R's. The thing is, Im going to have to do a 3" bodylift, and probably space my balljoints, and maybe even build a bumper to clear these tires.
I don't know why I didn't consider this before, but lately I've just become sick of all the kids back home...The mommy and daddy buy me everything type of kids that keep talking shytt about my truck, and it being 2wd. Im considering trying to find myself a 4wd frame. The more I think about it, it would pretty much offset the cost of making spacers and all the rest of that bullshytt, just to have a lifted 2wd in the end. is it really worth it??...
Ideally...I would like to find a Newer frame, Regular Cab....The body can be nasty as ever, I just want a decent frame. Fuel Injection would also be nice. Now correct me if Im wrong, but my extended cab body should just bolt on, with few changes..correct? I want a Regular cab frame because I want a short wheelbase, im not running a box..so ill cut the frame right after the leafs.
What kind of fitment issues will I have with everything lining up and what not?? And, What is everyone's thoughts on this? Let me know.
Thanks

Sounds like a good idea, but I would draw it up and make sure every thing will fit before you go and drop money on something you could possibly regret.

Well if you were going to find a 4wd frame it would have to be from a regular cab longbed in order for your cab to bolt on with no modification. And those are very rare. Would be much easier to find an ext cab 4wd frame. I like the idea of swapping the frame because like you said if you didn't swap you would just end up with a lifted 2wd. Thats my thoughts on the subject.

im wondering why you would have to do a body lift if you are gonna go with the same size tire you already have

sounds like a better idea to me than a prerunner.

even with a mild shackle/torsion crank on a 4wd frame, i think i would have trouble clearing a 33x12.5..always nice to tower over the fullsizes as well lol

in your original post you said you already have 33x12.502 on it but you would have to do a body lift and all to fit te same size wraglers on it

My truck isn't lifted, I have a 33x12.5 on my stock 2wd (see signature)..I don't have any lift in it yet.
They fit, but theres no chance of me turning.. lol
