What in the world does it mean? I keep seeing all these mazdas with se-5 on the side and I see no difference besides the paint job.

Its a trim level it just means that each trim level has different options like My 92 SE-5 has the

full door panels
power steering
A\C
Factory Tape deck with speakers in the front and back (mine is a EX Cab)
Factory tack
White 6 spoke wheels

An SE-5 is merely an option package. What all it includes I can't say for sure, but it is like a GT, LS, LT, etc. It's just another package description. I THINK but I am not certain, but the SE-5 gave you A/C, and optional power steering. I'm sure the forum veterans will set us both straight on this one for sure.

pont: My SE-5 has A/C and was equipped with the factory tape deck, but it doesn't have the LX style door panels or the tach . Were they all supposed to be equipped that way or does it make a difference what year it is? Mine's an '86.

Well Mine is a 92 and they stopped making the LX around 88 or 89 and only had the plan one Le-5 and SE-5 So they might have taken the fav options of the LX and put them in with the SE-5 option. Thats most likely why I have the full door panels and tach. But I do have a tach cluster and full door panels from my 86 LX that Im not using shot me a pm If you might wont them.

I have noticed that Mazda B series "packages" seem to be all over the place. I am on my 3rd Mazda, neiter was an SE model but all have had A\C and power steering...my 89 even had cruise control and it was a 5 speed...man do I miss that option!

I never had a mazda with power steering. WTF? LOL. I rather armstrong steering. They all had A/C....except the one I got now. It's got NOTHIN.

i had one with power steering but im not sure what model it was. i took it out though because mazdas arent that bad without. and who needs power steering when you got a perfectly good york to go in its place.

Mine has Power Steering, A/C, Cruise Control, Map Door Pockets, Full Door Panels. Tach Cluster... And I think thats it

Mine came with auto tranny,tilt,A/C and power steering, full door panels. I had to put in the tach though...
