so i got my wheels mounted onto my 17's today. they're off a chevy so i need to grind my tabs. can i completely grind them off or is it better to just grind them down untill they fit into the chevy center hole?

that or you can just have them bored out to fit

it will cost money to have the wheels bored. and i can grind the tabs myself. my question is, do i completly grind them off, or do i just grind them down until the wheel can fit on it?

On my old one I just ground them flush and mounted the wheels. Rocked them for about a year that way. I would recomend a lug nut up date. OH yeah if you are using a huge grinder....dont drop it on your leg. It will damn near cut it off. Still got a huge scar.

If you have a router you can bore the wheels out yourself. Theres a couple how to videos on youtube.

Grind them down flush, and then use a conical/self-centering lug nut...an open style would be best so you don't bottom out on the stud!
You'll be fine as long as you get the self-centering lug nuts!

mine have been grinded for awhile with no problems but you need to upgrade lugnuts to the bulge seat nuts. others are about to small and arent to safe.
on and mine are grinded flush and you dont need longer studs

i would grind them just to clear so the wheel sits right instead of going all the way flush...its easier to grind more if needed as to wishing you didnt do too much.....my opinion but i would get the wheels bored....and do it yourself if money is the issue?
