does anyone have an estimate of how much horse power the stock internals can handle

not much more than what an actual horse could offer. lol

Probably not much. I read somewhere once that they used these motors in smaller race cars and were making around 160hp. They were probably built though. I bet mr. hoc knows.

yeah, either Hoc or NYTRDR will know for sure.

a stock 2.2 is only around 105hp..... which doesn't seem like much but the gear ratio is what gives these lil trucks the tourq which isn't much more then the hp rating

There was a brief racing series (Allison Series(?) after Bobby Allison) that used the B2200 exclusively to power the cars with all engines being identical so only the drivers skills mattered. The internals were stock and I think those little motors were putting out 150-160 hp.So Maz internals are pretty sturdy and will handle close to 200 hp before the grenades start going off.Mine has 120 hp with stock internals and I think NYTRDR's is planned for 180 but I dont know if he is running stock internals or not.Peaco will build u a 200 hp motor using stock cranks, etc that is guaranteed for a year so ?????BJ

What about the guys that turbo the 8v motor? Do they upgrade the internals?
What about the whole 626 turbo block, that's a different beast, but similar to the B2200 block, right?

Idk about the 626 motor, but the mx-6 turbo is the same block as the b2200. I would think the internals are different though.

actually not.pistons are a bit different because the comp ratio is lower, but the internals are stock MAz parts.BJ

yeah,I was going to say,I know the compression is different.
So maybe for someone on a budget, their best bet is to find a F2T motor and build upon that?
