Do not buy the Dynomax "super-turbo" muffler for your mazda.
I bought one last week and hooked her up with 2" pipe all the way through and when I fired it up, it sounded completely stock. I am very dissapointed.
The muffler does sound great on other vehicles though (cars with higher compression and horsepower).
Anyway, I've learned my lesson.
good to know. i'm going for that quiet stock-like sound again... there's nothing i hate more than a pissed off sounding 4 cyl motor... except a loud obnoxious pissed off 4 cyl. motor.
i'm not suprised it sounds stock, thats basically a higher flowing universal oem replacement muffler....
my brother used one on his integra, he upgraded to a full 2 1/4 manifold back straight pipe. and it still sounded stock, he was pretty dissapointed also...
my cherrybomb sounded very stock too, maybe just a little deeper though. i took a cat out, and now it sounds alot louder. sounds pretty good.
Yeah, thanks. I'll go with the Magnaflow.
Shoulda heard mine with no after-cat, the primary gutted, with a cherry bomb glass pack. Very, VERY mellow. Sounded close to stock...

I have a Flowmaster 60 series with no cat sounds deep not to loud in my opinion.
I had a Magnaflow cat with a Dynomax muffler and 2.5" piping and it was loud, but raspy.
Right now,I have 2.5" pipe,no cat and a cherry bomb and it sounds like pure CRAP.
I'm going to put an OEM muffler on it. I hate the sound these trucks make.
i have a edelbrock muffler with a hollwed out cat it sounds good at idle...it has a nice poping sound but when you start driving its annoying especially when the compressors kick on...i cant hear myself think
