New to the scene!!

Hey I was just have a question,if anyone can help me out I was wondering how you center the c notch in the frame I have read that you mark out the center of the axle then move it 1/4 inch towards the front of the truck to make up for axle movement I have a universal 4 link kit that is also going in the truck any info would be great thx
