^ I will have to agree with dragginmazdog. I installed a reverse 4 link on my daughters truck it IMO it works pretty good. But consider the facts - 1: the geometry is backwards and definately should not be used if you plan on running any real HP 2: Yes, in a braking situation (as shown above) the rear can unload, BUT it all depends on how you set up the links. On my daughters truck, with stock brakes and 18" rims I have not experienced the above when riding atwhat I call "ride height" When the system was designed, I purposely buildt it so that at "ride height" the link bars, from back to front, were slightly point UP. Similar to a vise grip pliers when locked, during HARD braking you have to overcome the the tendency of the bars wanting to push the axel UP. Now if the truck is aired up and, from back to front, the bars are pointed down, then yes the axel will tend to push down and the rear end lifts up.

Just for a frame of reference, I have pushed her truck to what I feel is the limit of the tire/brake combo from 60mph to 0mph at "ride height" and could not generate anything close to the above video.

The pic below kinda gives you the idea of what I am talking about. At ride height (frame about 3-4" off the ground) the bottom bar is pretty close to parallel with the frame rail.

for the guys with a reverse 4: go to a big empty parking lot with a lot of room and try an "obstacle avoidance manuever", where you prentend that a car swerves into your lane or there is something in front of you that you have to swing the wheel a LOT. The truck will likely spin out.

This is because the forces of the suspension are applied at the end of the frame, away from the center of gravity, which multiplies the leverage on the center of gravity and spins the truck.

when you think about the work needed to install a 4 link and then about how easy it is to move the gas tank, I dont see how people still use reverse 4s? But hey use whatever you want, I didnt pay for it and I dont have to drive it.

^ On this part I will have to agree with you RussD. During hard cornering there is a noticable difference between stock leaf and reverse 4. Can't say that it is enough of a difference to redo the entire setup, but it is noticable.

ps - nice to have ya back!

Well we have already made a new gas tank cross memeber, which will raise the tank up some! I feel comfortable wit running a reverse 4 link, it will be installed RIGHT!
So there should'nt be any major problems with it.
