I'm lookin at getting a MIG welder. I was wondering who has what, what works well, gas tanks, price, etc. Please give me some ideas of what to get.
i have a lincoln pro mig-140, my fiance bought it for me for x-mas last year from lowe's for @ $400......very nice, it does what i need. it is a 110v welder, it came with the hoses for gas, a roll of mig wire, and a roll of flux cored wire too.....it says it will weld up to 1/4" thick metal...i welded my trailer "hidden hitch" onto the frame of the truck & it did just fine. if your gonna do a bunch of thicker metal, i'd go with 220v
hobart 's are nice and so are clark. clark is also manufactured by sears craftsman so you can get all your pars if need at sears it also has a 10yr anything warrantee if im not mistakin.
millermatic 210 with spoolgun and dual silenoids. welds aluminum and stainless. cost is well over $1500 after all the bells and whistles though. i love it. get what you want the first time and it will save $ in the long run

most of us are broke i dont thenk we can handle that
Miller's been my weapon of choice!
I lover millers but a 210 is way more than most people need....a 185 is more than enough, and it too can weld stainless, and all of that...
I was thinking about one of the lincoln welders from lowes. Most likely 110v. NYTRDR24 where did you get your gas for the welder from?
A 110 welder requires a 20 amp circuit.....and you can rent bottles from the local gas supply company.
