Hey, my name is John and i have been a member for some time but never posted anything until now. I have a 86 mazda b2000 and I love it. For now it has a static drop and i am working on getting the rust spots fixed. One problem that I do have is that the bed is rusted out pretty bad and I would like to fix it instead of replacing it with another one. I was wondering what you guys had to say about it. I don't want to replace it because i like how it looks with the decals on the side and would like to enjoy it how it is for now before I do anything major as far as paint goes.

Welcome man. You could try taking the whole floor out and replacing it. But that would be a ton of work lol

Welcome to the site and hunter has the right plan if you do not want to replace the box build a new inner box for it some thing like this
build a new floor frame maybe like this

Then lay in new steel and trailer fenders for the the new inner fender wells

OR now would be a good time to bodydrop the bed floor and use a newer floor with the sides you have now. This way you have the paint and stickers that you need and when you notch the frame it will be under the bed floor and no cut hole for the notches.. so it looks cleaner and you can still use the bed to carry stuff. then just build a body lift spacer so the bodylines match. Ex. if you do a 4" bodydrop build some 4" body lift spacers you can make these out of pipe its cheap and looks good.... Welcome to the site..

I dont know if Im ready for a bodydrop just yet. Im still playing arount with getting it as low as i can with just a static drop yet keep as much of a smooth ride as i can (if that even makes sense).
