Turns out it's not all hunky-dory. The "LSD" turns out to be an open diff, and a very loose one at that. Are these trucks known for diff problems? I seem to have heard of several with blown rear ends. It doesn't make much of a noise, so I assume the bearings are ok and it's gear lash or broken teeth, and will need to be replaced. Any suggestions?
Drove for 7 hours in a snowstorm here last night. This thing feels unstoppable - on the way back, there's a dirt road for a couple of miles that didn't get plowed, and had 1-4 feet of powder on its various sections. On the way back, it got up past the bumper to the windshield a few times and we were basically digging a tunnel. But it kept going, and got us home just fine.
