I just picked up a 92 2wd b2200 yesterday. 195,000 miles. Barely runs but I drove it home. I'm looking to rebuild, or replace the engine. Starting here to look for advice. I'm no newb to mazda. Been driving festivas since 91. Festivas are a mazda 121. We drive festivas stock to 300,000 miles all day. I've seen 8 with 500,000 miles. we also swap in the mazda BP (1.8 dohc 129 hp) from the protege and the escort GT or the B6t (1.6 dohc turbo) from the 323gtx, 323 gt, or the mercury capri xr2 and DOMINATE GTO'S, WRX'S, 911'S, etc at 1/4 miles, autocross, and road courses. I guess we'll need proof on that eh? These arent mine btw but friends..
Festiva vs GTO 1/4 mile
Festiva vs WRX... ARG cant find it. Well same car beats a rousch mustang..

Festiva eats a 911 on a road course.

SORRY TANGENT!
That's my roots and I must share.
Here are some of my current rides. First the b2200.

One of my festivas. This one gets a B6t that is already pulled and at my house. It waiting for me to throw some flares on it. Those come after the diy coilovers.

This is my wife's protege5

Oh! And my buddies mazda truly MINI truck...

And what I get to sell because I got the B2200... 74 Ranchero

So can anybody tell me what trans came stock in the B2200? It was suggested that I throw a BP into the truck. I'm worried about torque as the B is heavy. thanks in advance for any info. I will be using the search function as soon as I click submit on this post.

Thanks for the welcome! The festiva dwarfs a smart actually. I fit a lazyboy, a 580 lb mercedes inline 5 cylinder turbo diesel, a washer, or a drier in a festiva with the hatch closed. A full size motorcycle with it opened. This is my vid.
Stock 0-60 time is 10 seconds, top speed 113, and you can get over 50 mpg with conservative driving!

I was looking for info and advice. This may be a long shot but since I didn't get that info is there another forum for the B series trucks that is not focused on mods. This forum seems to be geared toward people who like to lower, bag, etc. I'm looking repair, work, and drive.

There's a ton of info and knowledgeable guys here to help. Maybe I missed it but what exactly were your questions?

Also you should start a new topic in the engine section asking about the info you need. The new members section won't get a lot of hits from guys looking to help answer technical questions you know?

Let us know what you need info about so we can help!
