New to the scene

mine made that sound, it was the clutch. the springs poped outta the disk. is it hard to shift at all?? if not then its def bearings.

mine just started making the same noise, when im on the freeway and i let off the gas completely it sounds like metal vibrating at a high speed. I honestly didnt know my driveline was a 2 piece either. Its an 89 and i have been under that truck a hundred times but I guess I never noticed it since it hasent givin me any problems. Sounds like the rubber bushing in the carrier bearing has come out or is just worn out.

i'd bet carrier bearing too. i know exactly what your talking about. mine does it at freeway speeds and i let off the gas completely.
we've got a 89 std cab FI 2200 that had a one piece driveline... so you can't bet that certain years came certain ways.
