Aloha from Hawaii, I just recently got my first truck which is a 1990 B2200. Found this forums which looks to have a lot of information and a lot of badass trucks. I had a question though, whenever I would shift it would make a weird sound which is hard to describe. It is also heard whenever I gas it and let off. My question is what could be causing this? One of my friends told me that it could be my drive shaft and that I need to replace it with a one peice drive shaft.

Here's a picture of the truck

if it's what i'm thinking, pump the clutch a few times, and see if it does it. if so, it's fluid or something. can't remember exactly, but something to do with it.

welcome man.
Yea it's either that or clutch but clutch would'nt make that same noise when you floor it, just when shifting. Possibly trannie. Maybe even mass cylinder or slave is leaking therefor causing this problem. Other guys on this site are more knowledgable, they can help you way more.

Welcome to the Mazda B Family. Do you know if it has a one piece drive shaft or a two piece drive shaft. If it is a two piece it sounds like the center carrier bearing might be going. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm way off here.

Yeah it's a 2 peice drive shaft. No the sound isn't coming from the clutch. It's more like the drive shaft, under the car. The best way that I can describe what it sounds like is soda cans being dragged.
