Got the front drop on my '88 done, and only got about 3-3 1/2 inches out of it. I havent done the rear yet, but cant see how that would make a diff. Made sure front springs were seated on top correctly. ALL front suspension parts were replaced at the same time, ie. control arms with pivot bars and ball joints, sway bar bushings, tie rods, idler arm and pitman arm. Will the springs settle that much?

I just got done installing my 6\8.5 dropkit on my '89 on the front today and got the full 6'' out of the front spindles and springs as I should.
Did you make sure that the Springs Seated into the A-Arm Cups the correct way?
I almost got mine in there the wrong way and it would have left me with about 2'' higher.
The end of the coil should slide into a bit of a groove in the cup.

hope this helps and hope they did'nt send you the incorrect springs by chance.

I think what I did wrong was payed attention to the D shaped stub on the top and lined it up with the spring. I dont think the bottom is seated the way it should be. Dosent look like I'll have time this week to check, but I'll let you all know when I get it right.
@pig rig, yeah that low
