Straight across would work for me. I just dont have anywhere to tear mine apart right now. My right front fender has been hit, (and then kicked in by my foot!) but I have anotherone in storage. Hood is fine and I have a couple of bunpers for it. The headlight frames were new a few years ago, og GM silver plastic and its got a chrome tube grill, straight outa 86 haha!

This is a real possibility?

You have both style trucks there, are the front bumper brackets and blot locations the same on the 2 different bumpers? Iv had both but never checked. What did you do w/ the '77 bed?

The bumper brackets are different, but I'm not 100% on the mounting holes. At any rate, I have all the brackets/hardware. In the spirit of full disclosure, while the hood is in decent shape, it did suffer from the "Chevy Bend" at some point. The PO fixed it and braced it back up, but it could use a slight abound of body work here.

I also still have the wiper linkage and arms...you're gonna need those if you swap to an older clip.

I'm going to need to get pretty serious about this in the next couple of week, so if we're gonna do this, it's got to be relatively soon.

You missed the bed by about two months. It was thrashed. I had an ad on CL for it with no takers, so I stripped the fenders and hauled it off the the scrapyard. Got $60 bucks for it.

I did'nt save all the bed trim because it was pretty hammered, but I did save the hard to find fender trim. Also, I still have the original doors w/ trim still on them. I could be persuaded to toss 'em in if you want 'em. The wife says the yard is starting to look like a pick 'n pull.

All in all, I'd say I have about 80% of the original side trim in reasonably decent shape. The stuff that is missing can be easily sourced from LMC, etc. I even have the original tailgate band, although I can't accurately recall it's condition off hand. I want to say it's probably okay...otherwise I wouldn't have saved it (it's up in the rafters of my garage).

Sounds good! I actually have every pice of trim from a 76 Sub new in the og bags from GM along w/ all weatherstriping and window felts. Its the rear fender trim that would be hard to find. I also have the wipers from that old Sub already on my dually, the nice stainless ones, not the black ones. I think I even have all the marker and tail lights too. My dad worked for GM and bought everything to restore the Sub before it was discontinued but never did the resto. Sounds like we need to do some wheeling and dealing! I really just dont have time or a place to tear my truck appart? If it could be done in an afternoon Id be willing to drive up, swap, then cruise home, Might even be able to conn a buddy in to coming w/ for an extra hand? Decisions decisions decisions.....
