Size is going to be your first problem and then you will have to figure out the attachment points along with the geometry difference of the parts.

Ford 45 and 550 10 lugs are smaller than the 10 lug semi wheels we use. Ours are 10x275.85mm and Ford uses 10x200mm and 10x225mm depending on year and model.

i have some front and rear hubs and rotors with the proper hub piloted bolt pattern at the shop. think they may be frieghtliner. one bad thing is by the time you made upper end lower control arms to fir these you arms would only be like 3 inches long lol. these things are massive. i can take pix if you want and measuremens. and some motorhomes dont use straight axles in the front. some do have independant front suspension. rare but they do.

My dad has a 2.5 ton squarebody chevy, I'm leaning more toward that style. I need to go take a lookie under it. I also think buses would be about right. Lots of those around.

Once I find some viable candidates I will check on parts pricing and availability.

what about the 90's chevys that are like the Heavy 1 tons or 2 tons??? They ran a 19.5" wheel that I thought was a ten lug???

I don't know just thinking out loud, never really paid attention to them.

That's what I'm trying to find out, what would have the right bolt pattern. I'll have to look into those. Thanks.

the shit box style 3500HDs were solid front axle for sure, but you might be able to make something work.

I'm pretty sure any of the ones I'm thinking of will be. I think that may be one of the small problems to overcome in this misguided endeavor.

I wonder if the rotors will fit our spindles? I would imagine not but take a trip to a parts store that does heavy duty stuff and have them grab one from each truck and compare. Maybe just using different bearings?

I know that is probably a long shot but what the hell.

Well I also thought I could get bearings to do just a rotor swap, or maybe modify a 1 ton spindle to accept the actual spindle part from a bigger truck.

I got lots of ideas for this floating around in my head.
