305 on 454 dually

i bought a dually with no motor but a trans in the bed and have a 87 std cab with the 305 and swaped the motor to the dually now i am having probs with finding out how to get the drivedshaft to work ...would the trans that came with it i think it is also a turbo400 like what was brhind the 305 only the 454 trans has a dif yoke and also is shorter ...should i put it in not knowing how good it works or have the drive shaft shortened...i really dont feel like droping the trans now

just have the yoke and the drive shaft worked on.
