What's the best way to tell if you have a one piece rear main seal, or a two piece rear main on a chevy 350, without tearing it apart?? and no, I don't remember what year model the block is either lol...

you have to take oil pan off and pop off ur rear main cap!!!!!!!!

On the left hand side towards the back of the block there will be a long number cast into the block. Write that down then check it against this.

Since I know how to use google, it looks like in 86 they started using the one piece seal.
