Today my truck died on me..I instantly suspected the fuel filter. Went to change it and saw that the current filter was pretty new and couldn't have been on there long. I removed the filter and the fuel that came from the tank side looked very rusty. Just found out why the filter was new.
Has anyone ever had a fuel tank cleaned out?? Maybe boiled out like at a radiator shop or something? Just curious to know what my options are.

I think radiator shops will do it. That's what I've heard.

A radiator shop will clean the tank out, but if you're seeing rusty looking crud in it you might be due for a new tank. Dunno where you're located but if it's been around road salt or a bunch of muddy crap, it tends to collect on top of the tank and rust it out. Or, since you're a 91 which will be EFI, when the in tank fuel pump start failing sometimes it will fill the filter up with debris that is actually shredded pump parts.
