This is my first post here so I hope it's ok...
I bought my automatic B2600 G6 dual cab just over a year ago so that I could teach myself how to repair and maintain my own truck so please bear with me here as I am a bit of an amateur.
My truck has a problem which seems to be fairly common where it get clunks around in gear and shifts hard starting off. I've looked all over the interweb and it looks like a lot of people have had this problem and spent a lot of money at transmission specialists to no avail, so my thoughts were screw that, swap it for a better transmission.
I've found a lot of information online over the past couple of months but a lot of it is contradictory. So I was hoping for some help to clear up what trannys will directly bolt on to the G6 and whether I will need to make any modifications. For example I'm pretty sure a 2nd generation Miata transmission will have the same bellhousing bolt pattern but will it suit the drive shaft on the B2600 and is that a good gearbox for my truck.
Any help, advice and maybe pictures of examples would be very, very appreciated.
