Nintendo Controller switch box nes

My switch box went bad and I was looking for a new one. Found my old nes nintendo controller and was wondering if there was a way to wire it up with some slight modifications?? I heard of some people doing it, but they never explained out they did it. If you have any info let me know. Thanks
