I like the look of the newer retro-rod cars. I was in Florida a few weeks ago and had a Chevy HHR for a rent-a-car. I could really go to town on one of those. To me, they just BEG to be altered.

Yeah i Like the Retro Look.. the Von Duct Look has always Been Really hot to me... this Paint jobs been on there for bout a year now so i am fixing to get ready to change it up, i have to buy a driver side fender for it.. but i am going to respray it, and do some interior work and a little bit suppension work in the rear.... you know if it dont sale you know...but Thanks again Fella's i figured i have a Little bit Of BASHING on with a pt Lol..

Nah...no bashing. Everybody thinks i'm crazy cause i wanna put my 71 long bed half ton in black primer and leave it that way. I already spoke to the guys at the body shop and they said they would add hardener to keep it from rusting out.

there isnt nothing wrong with no primer.. Hell from the look at alot of the pictures i seen at Sema Primer is coming back pretty good...
and my finaly Paint Job will Be 2 Tone primer and a Clear coated Color on top just dont know which color i want to go with.. depending if she sales Lol..

My g/f just bought an 07 white hhr. Its pretty cool. White with lt biege interior. Loaded except no roof rack.

Mine was even that metallic orange color that Chevy has...i could see it lowered with some old school wheels...maybe a set of torque thrusts.

The semi-gloss look is hot, just make sure that the base that they are using will have decent hold out when hardened. Some work better than others hardened. I would either go with a flattened clear, or a flattened single stage black. Either one would be more durable than hardened base.
