The bed floor in my Toyota is 16 Gauge with 1 inch steel frame. I tryed to keep the smallest opening 12x12. My floor also has a long arc in it which makes the floor strong as hell. I could easily load a quad in my bed if it had a tailgate. If you do a nice liner on top of the floor is will also give it a little more strength.
