I don't know how many other people have this problem but it finally bugged me enough that I got around to fixing it on my own truck. It should only be an issue on the 2000 and older style hoods, my power steering reservoir was touching my hood when closed and the other day someone let the hood fall shut and it dented the hood. SO rather than have that ever happen again I built a bracket to drop it down and move it over a tad so that it clears the hood with some room to breathe. The bracket goes on without any mods and reuses stock hardware.

You can see here where my hood, even after having a piece of the hood support notched, was rubbing on the pump.

So I made this to fix it.

clears just fine now. If there was enough interest in these I could knock out a few on the cnc plasma and send em out. Doing it free hand with a plasma was too much work hahaha wont be doing that again. I assume most people with a bodied truck have the skills to make these themselves so I thought I would post up that yes it can be done with the stock belt and tensioner.

I have a 97...it hit my hood as well. So to solve this we set a 2x4 on top of the reservoir and hit it with a big hammer...it sunk in and now doesnt touch... =)

Very cool. And BTW, your truck is turning out really nice. I have watched the build on CT for a while.
