how to check your oil in a york onboard???

how do you check the oil in these thins..i mean i know you unblot the blot in the side but how do i tel if its enough oil in there?

ive always used a zip tie and bent it to go in straight then pull it out and see how much is on it i keep it around 1.5-2 inches of oil

I would suggest you pick up a dipstick from Kilby or Airlift. You can easily make your own but its kind of a pain in the ass if you dont have one to copy. I use tig welding rod to make some for customers, and you want the level to be about 1"-1.5" from the bottom.
