stupid question, but how do you trim for the wheels so perfect? I'm about to do that this week end and want to make it as tight as possible. I working on a tahoe and the body is mounted but the suspension is all the way lifted. do you just do a little bit at a time?

On this one the fenders were already cut out, just not perfect. In order to get the wheel up higher I just jacked the axle up until the tire was touching the existing cut. Then I just marked the radius, trimmed, checked, trimmed again. The fenders I used for wheel wells are a good template as well. I cut one of the edges off the fenders when installing them. That leaves me with a perfect template to mark the diameter.

More progress...I have 95 feet of 1" square tubing in this damn bed, lol. It is almost done, just need to get the sides and front wall in. We have been waiting on a combo skin for the back forever, so it probably won't make it on in time for the cruise to the pines. I also threw the front fenders on to see where the tire was. Pictured is about 2" short of full lift, so plenty of lift! I put sheet metal on the inner parts of the opening. The cut follows the frame on the sides and hugs the fuel tank in the rear. The front of the opening has a radius, so I put an angled piece of sheet metal tucked under the opening.Floor is done! I also filled the voids on the sides of the wheel wells so water and dirt won't get into the new sides once they are on.Not quite full lift and it is just about untucked.
