nice work, but how will you ever remove the gas tank if you need to service the fuel pump or anything.

The two bottom bars bolt in, so you can remove it from underneath.

Are the plates inside the notches spot welded? Or just welded inside some holes in the plates?

They are welded all around and plug welded, they were only tacked in place in the pic.
