Public hangings/ect should be allowed like the old days. Its one thing for somone to hear about an inmate being killed but quite another to witness it. I think it would be kind of a "scared straight" opportunity.

Sounds great...however we all know the government is stuck in a hard place. They are actually doing some good over there, and to just leave would be an injustice to all the men and women that have been hurt or killed over there.
While some are lining their pockets, good is actually... SLOWLY being done.
Not all Iraqi's are terrorists, and the U.S. took the lead role in going in and rooting the terrorist pricks out, and killing them...one at a time.
Canada IS over there, though we have taken a small to non humanitarian "whatever" approach to the problem. I do believe we could do more, but we arn't doing nothing...some countries are doing just that...nothing.
There are no easy answers in politics, everyone has an agenda, constituants to answer to, etc etc.
Anyone who ever tried to do good in the world has ended up dead...you can't make money doing good deeds. Someones ass is usually making no money, so others can make alot of money.
Campy wouldn't last a week...they'd kill his ass the second he stepped out of the popemobile.
I think the same way you guys do...shoot I think I could fix this country in a week. So why doesn't anyone get in and fix it? Cause they realize how much money THEY could make and cave in and conform.
It would take a special someone to go in. fix the problems, and not be swayed over to the dark side...or be killed before they had a chance to "fix" anything. This shit goes wayyyy deeper than what we see on the surface, you guys know that.
