The hood is just sitting there. We had to cut a couple supports out to get it to close. Also the front crossmember is holding the truck about 1.25" off the ground. We are going to cut the bottom of the front crossmember off and plate it back in. There is about 2.5" before the lower a-arm bolt would come in contact with the ground, so we have the room to cut off the bottom.

You can see in the pics how high we cut the inner fender for tire clearnce. There is about 1" of metal still running verticle before it turns horizontal and becomes the mounting area for the fender. The frame of the hood sits a little bit off of that when it is shut all the way. So with only guessing I would say the top of the tire is about 1.5" away from the frame of the hood. The bottom of the fender will be secured to the rocker, just like any other truck.

Edited: 7/29/2009 1:30:15 PM by smithchassisgood job on the channel we did an s10 like that about 2 years ago, stock carpet went right back in, gonna be a nice mitsu when done, it would be nice to install a hydroholics kit, really nice kits, and really innovative dumps, and good ideas on the new pump blocks. if anyone out here on the east is interested in buying the kit from hydroholics we would be more than happy to install it.
