a 275/25-26 is real close to the same size as a 255/30-24.so it should work

305/30/26 is 33.2 inches if you go with the 295/25/26 it should work its the same as a 305/30/24

aren't the SS body panels just larger and not actually a bodykit? so technically it is layin rocker, they are just much thicker than the standard rocker panel on a chevy, right? well anywyas, as for your question man with a tire as thin as the ones on those 28s im sure you wont have any trouble at all stuffing 26s on a 98, now drivability is a different story. hope all works out for ya...
