Taco tailgate on a 89?

Will it fit? I got an idea and the early Taco tailgate Is a key factor, i just need to kno if it will fit. Or if im guna have to jus put the skin on my tailgate. Thanks guys

i have the taco bed swap[ and had to narow the bed..so im guessing it wont fit

yes it fits. a buddy did it on his truck with stock everything except taco gate of course.

ive seen them used on stuff just cruisin around before. like its all they could find. so, im assuming it is a swapable deal. cool concept above too. wtf? bmw wheels?

FlntRoc (Shawn Flint)  i got the idea from that pic but without the taco tail lights.  Would using the skin be the best bet for this?? that way i can shorten it if necessary. but if the whole assembly fits then il just use it.  is there a definite answer

It fits as far as height & width & it bolts up on the bottom mount but the top latch mount does not fit & needs to be modified.Here's a pic without the taco lights, won't look good in my opinion. It just doesn't line up & looks out of place. I like the Taco tailgate better & wanted the Red/Clear taillights to update the truck so it worked out for me.

yea when i pout the skin on mine i had to cut 1/2 off each side ...
