That is a nice truck! How much difference is there in the 48's and the 53's? I don't know anything about old trucks! Here is a 48.  48 Chevy

Jance the 47-53 chevys were almost completely the same trucks.  In 51 they started using 2 piece door glass.  Thats the only major change in the 47-53 models. The 54 model had flat top bedsides, a once piece front windshield and a completely different grille.  Some 1955 trucks shared the 1954 body style, but some 1955 trucks were the newer body style. 

I will aslo ad that at some point, i think it was the 52 models they changed to a push button door handle, and also at some point (i think when the two piece glass came) they eliminated the drivers side cowl vent

---------------------------------------------Thanks Charlie! Giggity I know they looked very similar but looking at that 48 nothing is similar That truck won Great 8 in Detroit so you know a lot of it was changed.  

that 48 has nothing to do with a advanced design truck(thats what chevy called 47-54 and early 55)its more of a brother to a sst

Def. a bad ass truck. Id' roll it just like that, paint is overrated. Maybe throw a wood floor in the bed.
