On my 94 chevy, i cut it about even with the back of the cab. I was just going to back half mine as well but i wasn't comfortable with the welds so i took the cab off and stockfloored it at the same time, turned into a lot of work but was worth it to me for the piece of mind that i was able to plate it up real good at the joint.
