Here are the steps in order.

1st-- Shave half of the forrest.

2nd-- Light the other half of the forrest on fire. (whatever means of open flame you prefer)

3rd-- When the little occupants (i.e. monagohnaherpapshphaliads) of the forrest retreat across the barren wasteland, STAB them with an ice-pick.

4th-- If this doesn't work repeat step 2 over and over.
