Custom headers, driveline tunnel, firewall clearance for distributor and headers too probably. I have one coming in the shop January that has the swap, I could get pictures then if you can wait. Otherwise I'm sure someone else might have some.

I'm trying to figure out how to shorten a 302 in both directions right now.

not hard to do brandon, just get a circle track oil pan so you can lower the motor down in the engine bay and buy or modify some headers to clear and little bit of firwall clearance thats if you want carb or go tpi or lsi and it will clear the hood with ease

Go with an LS-based small block and the firewall clearance isn't an issue. no distributor.

Look into a Ford 302, its quite a bit lighter and dimensionally smaller than a 350 SBC, and has the distributor in the front instead. Sure it may be a little more of a challenge to pick up aftermarket for the same price as the SBC, but you will have a little more original motor in there.Check my profile, I have a 302 in my mazda with a 5.5" bd.
