I wanna remove the black body molding off of my avelanche. Whats the best way to do that without damaging the paint?

heat gun & something plastic just to get it started. bondo spreader, credit card, vinal sticker spreader, etc. then just heat a little & pull a little. and then for getting the adhesive tape off, more with the heat gun & your thumb if you don't have an eraser wheel.

def wanna buy a ereaser wheel or your gunna have blisters from all the rubbin. i usually use fishin line to first remove the molding or emblems... then just go to town with the ereaser wheel.

I went to a paint supply store and bought a liquid adhesive remover... basically you pull the molding off, apply the adhesive remover, and then work the glue with a bondo spreader and heat gun. It worked great for me! Didn't harm the paint at all. Hope this helps.

what body molding? Like the giant plastic body clading that came on the early ones?

yeah, if your talking about the older avalanches with the plastic body moldings, they are held on by clip and there will be holes in the door. if its a newer one, just do as said above.

I agree with the eraser wheel. always a good investment to have on hand. though use the white 3M wheels over the yellow astro wheels. though the astros will remove it faster, your gonna leave behind a yellow streak that doesnt come off. the 3M wheels will do it too if you strangle thr trigger! haha just keep the rpm low and dont use alot of pressue. i have seen many kids mess up their paint by goin all hellish with an eraser wheel...
