Engine block prep?

I am going to pull my engine down to bare block and i want to paint the block base clear like the truck but not sure hwo to properly prep it. Sandblasting? I was also thinking of powdercoating it white and scuffing it and then spraying the green. Any info and tips would b appreciated thanks

clean it clean it clean it. then prep just like you would bare metal.
