I just bagged my car and I have a grand on the credit card, but to compensate I eat crap food and give up other luxuries.

lol i have actually stashed bills under a lamp to save money for parts for my truck!
Maxin out a credit card to be bagged or bodydropped is not a good decision in my eyes.I am sure this thread will be long and turn into a built vs bought thing, but my oponion is save,save,save..and when you got the cash DO IT!!

the money i save by only feeding my family once a week goes toward my truck. hahaha. no if i can't buy it with cash i don't need it so i would say just save up and if you can do some of the work yourself. NO CREDIT

Heck I traded work for a 49 ford coupe, and baggin the rear of a truck for some train horns for the ford. I would go in debt for anything, again.

MY ADVISE: DO NOT PUT IT ON A CARD!!!!! I did for most of my stuff then I got ripped off and the parts "disappeared" but yet I still am paying on them and dont have shit to show for it.....

I personally dont think a 1000 dollar loan is a bad idea, cheap payments. I would say concentrate on finding someone to do the work right, and use good parts. Get the 1000, get it notched, and buy the 4 link and everything to do the back. Pay off that loan. NEXT 1000, PUT the 4link in and figure out what to do with anything in the way. pay that off. Then move to the front. Thats what i did when i was in school, except i just saved it up. NUMBER one thing is the work gets done right, otherwise you mess up your only transportation (in my case), and you end up doing everything 2x.

I started workin at taco bell from sixteen to nineteen and saved alot to go into my truck. It's not laying frame but i know once i finish college i can go all out in it. I am now 21 and been struggling so much with college right now too. I been saving slowly for stuff though like 20 to 25 bucks a week and it works. I have also been saving change haha. I have about 270 bucks in quarters, dimes and nickles that i been savin for about 6 months.. Beats being in debt
