My trans is noisy in 5th gear,or when you let off the gas. I think it is a W55 trans,5 seed manuel,88 SR5,2wd truck. Shifts fine, does not grind or pop out of gear? Figure it's just wear,is there any additives that will help??

sounds like input shaft bearing... I have never seen worn gears, usually replace those with shift probs or grinds between shifts or pops out of gear... Imo toyotas and honda 5 spd trans are bullet proof (as long as there not abused)
