my truck is bodydropped and i want it a little lower and dont want to do the floor again and cut it up...now what i want to do is cut the body mounts off the frame and lower them...i know i gota drop the frame horns again ...but would this be a bad idea i know it would work ..i know i would have to also redo the trans tunnel...i just plan to drop it to the frame or mabe just to the top of it...has anyone done and not had problems

It would be alot of work for th little drop you get, i dont think theres much room between the floor and frame.

can you make your mounts 1/2" or 3/4" thinner?

back in the day thats how you did a bodydrop..you cut the body mounts off and made new ones lower on the frame.hell i think minitruckin even did a tech article on a toyota doing it that way. we used 2x4 box if i remember right. it was a better way of doing it imho

ya your only going to get at most 3/4''. not worth it IMO.

there never has been much space to gain on any yotas doing that. fullsize chevy, alot. yota, eh.

well its a little more and its not that hard use the plasma to cut the mounts weld them back up lower...thats 1/2 3/4 more into my rocker

Just do a small channel in the floor and you could easily get another inch or two.

it depend on how much room you have and how much lower you want to go. If lowering your body mounts means redoing you trans tunnel, then you might as well redo the body drop. But if you only need 1/2" to get you where you want and you have the room to lower it without it affecting any thing, do it.
