hey guys has anyone ever done or seen a 88-98 chevy 4x4 suburban made into a crew cab shortbox ?? 88-98 crew cabs are very hard to find in my area and i have found a decent k2500 burb 6.5 diesel that is just sittin in the weeds nice interior and no rust or body damage i am wanting a crewcab diesel short box but cant find one so i thought why not build one ? i would take the burb and cut it behind the forth doors and weld the back end of a regular cab cab on and lenghtin the frame and drive shaft and lines and throw a shortbox on it amd paint it black with all black out widows and possibly shaved door handles and cab light with black leather interior. i just keep dreamin about this truck. and idk if the burb runs or not its been sitting for about 3 years but i could always throw a create 6.5 or a cummins it it. soo tell me what ya think any help on this id appricate it thanks guys !

Actually yes... I did this about 5 years ago to a 95 half ton burb. Although I cut the burb off right behind the wheel wells in the rear welded on the back couple inches of a reg cab to it, shaved what was left of the opening for the big sides, shaved the rear wheel wells, took a srw long bed and a short bed grafted em together to make an 11'6" tandem axle bed. Thing was crazy long and pretty much like driving a school bus, customer loved it tho. Drove it pretty much everywhere. Was in se Ohio. Will try to dig up pics.

To be honest for what you're wanting... drive whatever distance it takes to buy crewcab. The burb roof dosent line up with the cab as well as you'd think.
