audio controls on the steering wheel

I want to upgrade my head unit from the stock 6 disc in dash cd player but I want to still use the wheel mounted controls. Do the aftermarket units allow you to utilize the steering wheel mounted controls?

yes there are certain ones and you have a box you install and you have to program it to work with your steering wheel.
