what are some common problems that the PUPs have? I've been looking at purchasing one that is already at least bagged so I can have just to toy around with. anything to look for? thanks ahead of time

headgaskets. My old 89 went through head gaskets like a mutha. I got resurfaced everytime too, until I finally just got fed up and sold it.

Watch your bank account, these trucks cost a little bit to build and keep running, as custom parts are hard to come by and most junk yards wont have one. Good news most passport and redeo parts may fit with a little love. Mines "CARBURATED" and to date no problems, though fuel injection looks cooler!

Good luck

lol keep the six lug...its cool. buy drop spendles...i have em and they're fine although they do push your wheels out a little. as for the amigos...they are hard to come by. the only real problem is with the carborated motors as stated...everyone i've known, including me, has had to rebuild one for one reason or another. other than that they're a good truck.

thanks for all of the help guys. i'm looking to buy one that is 90-94 or so, something that I can pick up for relatively cheap and just have for fun because I always have to be so paranoid about getting my truck out and leaving it somewhere. all of my buddies nice cars/trucks have gotten keyed and lots of systems have been stolen so it just isn't worth it sometimes.
it's more of a nostalgia thing cause my dad bought a 90 PUP brand new and it was lowered with some 16s and a camper shell on it with neons everywhere.
