All you need is one side as a constant 12V and the other side a ground. The ground usually goes to the body or screw around it, and the 12V goes to the center. Its easy to wire up.

I use mine to charge my phone at runs. And I got a converter that goes from a ciragette lighter to a 110 plug. Last time we went camping I ran an electric stove off it.

Just a thought, seeing that it is aluminum could you pull the heater core out and have some 90's or 45's tigged on the core and then reinstall it. If the fittings 90 right at the fire wall it looks like it could work. I dont know how the core would reinstall though. oh or do fittings that are threaded there so you could some braided swivel fittings 90 into it? Just some ideas. Hope this helps
