Help with hard lines...

Im putting hard lines through out my van and im having tons of problems. I have 3/8 stainless steel lines and fittings, the problem i have is i didn't know that you had to buy special SS tools to work with that line. The place that i bought my line sold me this to the flares.

Well the line keeps slipping out, so i called them them and asked and another guy told me i need one that will do SS and the one i have doesn't. He suggested to buy this one but its almost $500!!!

I looked into the Ridged flaring tool but the only one they have that will do SS is 45deg and i need 37deg.

Stainless steel requires specialty tools... the imperial tools 2000fs is 259 at lesman tools, and eastwoods 49130 does it too but its 310 bucks... unfortunately to use stainless you have to invest in the right tools.

use swagelok fittings, and dont worry about flaring the line at all.

thats all ive ever used on all my hydro systems, up to 3000psi strong, and never a leak.

Thats true, swagelock stuff is nice, and super durable. But it ain't cheap either. You can also use weld on fittings and have them tigged up and then polish them, but good luck ever aking anything apart, lol.

Yep, what Taylor said. I use compression fittings on mine. Had them on for over 5 years without a problem!

Do i have to get the entire new fitting or is it just the sleeve and nut? Where should i buy them from, right of there site?

Mine are parker brand I think, its been awhile since I looked. We have a parker store in town so I get all ine fittings from there.

Go to this site. They are the best thing since sliced bread,imo. If they leak, just tighten them some more.
